Celebrating 20 Years

ORBIS Inc. proudly celebrated 20 years in business this past September 2020. Founder and CEO Guy Mossman started ORBIS in Charleston, SC in September of 2000, opening offices in Washington, DC and Portsmouth, NH the following years. ORBIS has grown to over 250 Full Time Employees and supports contracts in over 35 cities across the US, including Pearl Harbor, HI, Norfolk, VA, and Newport, RI.

SC Governor Henry McMaster congratulated ORBIS’ achievement in a formal letter, stating:

It is my great pleasure to send congratulations to the ORBIS team as you celebrate the company’s 20th Anniversary.

As a veteran-owned small business, ORBIS provides vital services and support to the Department of Defense and commercial entities. From engineering, logistics, and IT support to consulting, research and development, and Industrial services, the company has shown a strong commitment to providing high-quality and innovative support and products to its customers. Of special note is ORBIS’s dedication to our veterans and active-duty military members, as South Carolina shares a deep appreciation for their service and sacrifice.

ORBIS Awarded Follow-On Task Order With The Navy’s RADIAC Program

April 7, 2017. ORBIS Sibro, Inc. (ORBIS) announced it has recently been awarded a follow-on multi-million dollar task order under its NAVSEA SEAPORT prime contract to provide In-Service Engineering Agent support to the Navy’s RADIAC Program. ORBIS will continue to support this vital program by providing cradle-to-grave support for over 70,000 pieces of equipment used by nearly every ship and shore command in the Navy.

ORBIS managers, engineers and technicians are excited to be able to continue the work we have been doing for over 10 years.  As the RADIAC ISEA, ORBIS is assigned responsibility for program management, engineering, logistics, research and development, acquisition, equipment installation, business and administrative support, as well as administrative oversight of the calibration laboratories that service the equipment.

Charlie Grabenstein, ORBIS’ Chief Operating Officer, expressed excitement about the opportunity to continue to support the RADIAC Program. “We are excited to win this follow on work and are very proud of our record of support of NAVSEA and the RADIAC Program in particular,” Grabenstein stated. “ORBIS has supported the Department of Defense since 2000, and the RADIAC work has always been one of our core competencies,” he said.

Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard

ORBIS was awarded a two year $20 million contract to support Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard (PHNS), Pearl Harbor, Hawaii with Production Touch Labor for two years.  Under this contract Orbis will provide skilled Trades to PHNS once task orders are issued.  This is the 7th contract for our Industrial Services Division and our first award at PHNSY.  This represents a significant win for ORBIS, as we expand our industrial services presence supporting the Naval Shipyards with skilled Tradesman.

Hoopalator Open Golf Tournament

Last month on August 20th our CEO Guy Mossman and COO Charlie Grabenstein competed in the #Hoopalator Open Golf Tournament in Hope Valley RI. This was a fundraising event for the Lustgarten Pancreatic Cancer Foundation! Orbis was proud to help sponsor this event!

ORBIS Awarded NAVSEALOGCEN Support Contract

July 15, 2016 – ORBIS was awarded a three year $13 million contract to support Naval Sea Logistics Center (NAVSEALOGCEN), Mechanicsburg, PA. Under this task order contract, we will provide In-service logistics, maintenance and supplier quality Information Technology (IT) support services to NAVSEALOGCEN and their customers.

NAVSEALOGCEN is an Echelon V Field Activity for the Naval Sea Systems Command, Washington, DC. NAVSEALOGCEN serves as a technical agent for developing, maintaining, and assessing life-cycle logistics, maintenance, and supplier quality support policies, procedures, processes, Information Technology applications, including web applications and systems.

ORBIS Awarded BPA With U.S. Army Through Benét Laboratories

July 11, 2016 – ORBIS was awarded a Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA) W15QKN-16-A-0121 to provide instrumentation and programming support for ballistic testing and R&D application components for the U.S. Army through Benet Laboratories in Waterliet, NY through July of 2021. This BPA has an unlimited ceiling, which means the contract value ($) is not capped. ORBIS will provide data acquisition systems, programming of test systems with logical user interface, reconfiguration of existing systems and schematics for integration of measurement devices. This work will be performed at ORBIS Labs in Mt. Pleasant SC, Benet Laboratories at Watervliet NY, Picatinny Arsenal NJ, and Adelphi Proving Ground in Adelphi MD, and Rock Island Arsenal in Illinois.
Benét Laboratories is the U.S. Army’s design authority for large caliber cannon and cannon safe life considerations. A research, development, and engineering facility, Benét is responsible for the full life-cycle of mortars, tank guns, and artillery cannon for howitzers; provides tank turret support for ABRAMS and Crew Cooling for ABRAMS, Bradley and LAV combat vehicles; and provides support to the Army’s industrial base at the Watervliet Arsenal.

ORBIS Awarded LCS Support Contract

July 8, 2015 – ORBIS as a part of the Booz Allen Hamilton Team was awarded the professional support services contract to provide engineering, logistics and program management support to PEO LCS PMS (403-505) under SEAPORT-e. This is a five-year $20.5 million contract to support PEO LCS as they build, test and deploy Littoral Combat Ships (LCS), a class of relatively small surface vessels intended for fleets operations in the littoral zone.
This is a significant win for ORBIS, as it expands our presence in supporting the US Navy major acquisition programs.

ORBIS (Prime) wins 3 year NSWCCD Philly contract

Date:  29 September, 2015 – ORBIS was awarded a three year Prime contract valuing $16.7 million contract to provide Submarine Program Engineering, Technical, Logistics and Program Management support to the Naval Surface Warfare Center Carderock Division (NSWCCD), Philadelphia, Code 913.
